EVIDENCE FOR: The way the film not only resembles the structure of “Borat” but also its content (a storyline about a socially inept weirdo pestering confused celebrities; people showing off their comically shabby houses; the confrontational use of human excrement; the presence of “real” prostitutes; men wrestling in the nude); the sheer logistics of keeping a secret between a couple people versus dozens or hundreds.

What is delivered on the screen is a behind-closed-doors look at celebrity and all its advantages and trappings. From private jets and cars to smoking dubious amounts of marijuana, from parties in Miami to snoring cocaine off a New York call girl’s breast; Affleck’s camera is truly unblinking. The feeling of claustrophobia is apparent in this film, and an audience feels as if they themselves are trapped in a bubble looking in from the inside. The film begins with a Blair Witch type of footage following a hooded Joaquin Phoenix as he spouts his feelings of being on display for an audience without a hint of irony being filmed as he states “I feel like a puppet”. Without the integrity of feeling like a true artist, Joaquin Phoenix longs to create rather than mimic. Could this be a clue or the key to the entire film?

Arizona Democratic congressional candidate Jon Hulburd is using Christian radio to attack his opponent, Republican Ben Quayle, for his ties to a salacious website.
“I’ve read that congressional candidate Ben Quayle helped create one of the most offensive websites I’ve ever seen,” a woman says in the ad, currently running on three Christian radio stations and a Phoenix conservative talk radio station. “The site promotes drugs and prostitution, is filled with meanness and foul language, humiliates women and even mocks people with Down syndrome.”
The ad refers to TheDirty.com, a site that began in 2007 as Dirty Scottsdale. Its founder, Nik Richie, accused Quayle of having a role in the site’s creation a claim Richie has since admitted overstated Quayle’s role in the site. Richie still claims Quayle wrote several posts under the name Brock Landers, a reference to a fictional porn star in the movie “Boogie Nights.”

The Albuquerque Police Department has said most of the victims had ties to drugs and prostitution, and they had been reported missing from 2003 to 2005.
