Two more women have been arrested as part of an investigation into three massage parlors that police say operated as fronts for prostitution.
In all, seven people now are being held as part of the investigation, which centered on two massage parlors in Scottsdale and a third in Mesa, according to Scottsdale police.
Five of the women are being held on suspicion of prostitution, while two others are suspected of being the co-operators of the enterprise, police said.
On Wednesday, Scottsdale police said Laura Ann Walden, 55, and Michael Vern Sanford, 56, who lived together in Mesa, were arrested on suspicion of maintaining a house of prostitution, controlling a criminal enterprise and money laundering. Walden also is being held on suspicion of pandering. Police initially said three others were arrested.
